Taxi Dollars Terms and Conditions

• HKTaxi users can obtain Taxi Dollars when they pay for HKTaxi rides using electronic payment means. Taxi Dollars can be redeemed in subsequent rides to discount the taxi fare payable.

Purchasing Taxi Dollars

• HKTaxi user can purchase Taxi Dollars for friends and family by entering his/ her Hong Kong mobile number. When he/she receives an SMS message about the Taxi Dollars offer on the same number you entered and accepts it on HKTaxi, the Taxi Dollars gift will be credited to his/ her account.
• HKTaxi user can enjoy Taxi Dollar rebate when purchasing Taxi Dollar. The rebate amount depends on the type of credit card used.
• Taxi Dollar gift is valid until the last calendar day for six months counting from the month it is obtained. Taxi Dollar will be forfeited after the expiry date.
• Rebated Taxi Dollars will expire on the last day of the subsequent month in which they are obtained. Taxi Dollars will be forfeited after the expiry date.

Obtaining Taxi Dollars

• Taxi Dollars can be obtained when an HKTaxi user pays using electronic payment means for a trip booked via HKTaxi.
• HKTaxi user can enjoy Taxi Dollar rebate calculated based on the full taxi fare including other charges and tips but admin fee and the part paid by Taxi Dollars are excluded. The final percentage of rebate is subject to credit card used.
• Taxi Dollars will expire on the last day of the subsequent month in which they are obtained. Taxi Dollars will be forfeited after the expiry date.

Redeeming Taxi Dollars

• Taxi Dollars previously obtained can be redeemed when an HKTaxi user settles the fare of a trip with electronic payment means.
• Taxi Dollars can be used to discount the taxi fare after the application of administration fee, additional charges, tips and other discounts by an equivalent amount of Hong Kong dollars.
• The amount of Taxi Dollars redeemed must be an amount of Taxi Dollars that is equivalent to the taxi fare payable after the application of administration fee, additional charges, tips and other discounts, or the entire stock of Taxi Dollars balance the user possesses, whichever is smaller.
• The applicability of Taxi Dollars for a trip paid for with electronic payment means may vary from time to time and is based on the sole discretion of HKTaxi.

Others

• A customer has to maintain a valid HKTaxi user account through a local mobile phone number and register an eligible electronic payment means as payment method through HKTaxi before he/she can obtain and/or redeem Taxi Dollars.
• The use of Taxi Dollars will also be considered as one of the electronic payment methods. Regardless of whether or not you pay with a credit card, a 3% administrative fee will be added to the total fare (inclusive of any additional charges, surcharges and tips).
• Taxi Dollars obtained cannot be exchanged for cash/service, other products or discounts.
• Taxi Dollars obtained is not transferable.
• HKTaxi App Limited reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time without prior notice.
• By obtaining and/or redeeming Taxi Dollars, an HKTaxi user agrees to be bound by other relevant Terms and Conditions of HKTaxi.
• In the event of disputes, the decision of HKTaxi shall be final and binding.
• Any fraud and/or abuse by any person as determined by HKTaxi App Limited will result in forfeiture of the person’s eligibility to obtain and/or redeem Taxi Dollars. HKTaxi reserves the right to deduct the value of any Taxi Dollars redeemed inappropriately from any of the person’s electronic payment means without prior notice and/or take legal action in such instances to recover any outstanding amounts.
• Should there be any discrepancy or inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
